Dr. Behr is an Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine sub-specialist in private practice at Mission Valley Heights Surgery Center in San Diego, CA. He is Board Certified: Diplomate, American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery; Diplomate, National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Behr holds several Membership affiliations including but not limited to: American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Currently he serves as Assistant Team Physician to San Diego State University and previous to that held the position of Assistant Team Physician to the New York Giants. Dr. Behr completed his residency and fellowship in orthopaedic surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Eric Carson, M.D.
Dr. Carson is an Orthopaedic Surgon and Sports Medicine sub-specialist currently serving as Associate Professor at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He is a Board Certified Diplomate, American Board Orthopaedic Surgeons and is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Carson has had multiple publications in peer review journals including book chapters as well as presentations at conferences worldwide. He completed residency in orthopaedic surgery at Harvard University Orthopaedic Surgery Program and completed a sport medicine fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dr. Carson holds the rank of Major in the United States Army Reserve.

James C. Esch, M.D.
Dr. Esch completed his education at Notre Dame and Northwestern University. His internship and residency were conducted at Cook County Hospital and Northwestern University respectfully. Later he served as an Orthopedic Surgeon in the United States Navy in Danang, Viet Nam. His affiliations include American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North American (Past President), and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (Program Committee, Shoulder and Elbow Section). He is the author of many books and publications. As chairman for 25 years of the internationally attended San Diego Shoulder Arthroscopy Course he has been directly responsible for the education of thousands of orthopaedic surgeons in shoulder repair.

Matthew France, M.D., M.B.A.

Currently he serves as Sports Medicine Sub-Committee Chairman at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Dr. France completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at UMDNJ - New Jersey Medical School and completed two fellowships: Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship, University of California, San Diego; Shoulder & Elbow Fellowship, University of Washington. Dr. France holds an MBA in Health Care Administration from Bernard Baruch College - Mt. Sinai School of Medicine.

Brad Giannotti, M.D.
Dr. Giannotti is an Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine sub- specialist in private practice on staff at the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Pennsylvania. He is Board Certified: Diplomate, American Board of Orthopedic Surgery; Fellow, American College of Surgeons; Fellow, International College of Surgeons. Dr. Giannotti holds several Membership affiliations including but not limited to: American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the Eastern Orthopedic Association. For the past several years, Dr. Giannotti has held the position of Master Instructor of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has had multiple publications in peer reviewed journals including book chapters as well as presentations at national conferences. His postgraduate work included specialty training in shoulder and knee surgery at the Los Angeles Orthopedic Institute.

Ronald A. Navarro, M.D.
Dr. Navarro earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois, College of Medicine. He then completed his Orthopaedic training at Harbor General — UCLA Medical Center. He has also completed fellowships in shoulder, arthroscopy, and sports medicine from the renowned University of Pittsburgh, and in joint replacement from UCLA/Sepulveda VA Medical Centers. Dr. Navarro joined Kaiser Permanente as an orthopedist and sports medicine specialist in 1997. He is now Chief of the Department of Orthopaedics and Director of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center, in Harbor City. He has just accepted a position to become Assistant to the Medical Director of the same South Bay Medical Center in charge of Surgical Services, effective January 2008.

Richard K.N. Ryu, M.D.
Dr. Ryu graduated cum laude from Yale University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. He attended the University of California San Francisco medical school, and completed his residency there as well in orthopaedic surgery. His fellowship year was spent at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles followed by private practice in Santa Barbara, California for the past 20 years. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and has served as its Program Chairman for the 2006 annual meeting. He has also served as Chairman of the Education Committee and the Ethics and Standards Committee . He recently completed a six year term as a California delegate to the Council of Delegates for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and provides coverage for several universities and high schools. Dr. Ryu sits on the Editorial Board of Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Review, and has been a guest editor for the Journal of Arthroscopy in addition to Operative Techniques in Sports Medicine. He is the author of more than 50 scientific articles and book chapters and has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally on arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder.

Joseph Tauro, M.D. (Chair)
Dr. Tauro is an Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine sub-specialist in private practice at Community Medical Center, Toms River, New Jersey. He has served as the Chairman of the department of Orthopedic Surgery, as a member of the Executive Committee and Operating Room Advisory Committee at Community Medical Center. He is Board Certified: Diplomate, American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Tauro is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Orthopedic Surgery, at New Jersey Medical School. He is a member of Learning Center Committee, Arthroscopy Association of America. He has held, for the past several years, the position of Master Instructor of Shoulder Arthroscopy for the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Tauro was one of the first developers of the technique of arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, the first repair being performed in 1992 and was the first surgeon to publish the results of arthroscopic repair in a peer reviewed journal (Journal of Arthroscopy 1998). He maintains one of the largest databases of arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs in the world. Dr. Tauro was also one of the pioneers of the repair of massive rotator cuff tears, with the latest data published in the Journal of Arthroscopy. He has authored several other articles on the topics of repair and techniques associated with arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and arthroscopic reconstruction of the unstable shoulder.

Jon 'JP' Warner, M.D.
Dr. Warner joined the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Surgery Dept. in April 1998 as Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Partners Health Care System and Chief of the Harvard Shoulder Service at Partners and has since been promoted to Full Professor in June 2004. Dr. Warner has offices at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital. Previously he was Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Director of the Shoulder Service, Assistant Director of the Center for Sports Medicine, and Co-Director of the Shoulder Research Laboratory at the Musculoskeletal Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Warner has authored over 80 peer review publications, more than 200 book chapters, and 4 books and received numerous research awards. Dr. Warner is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of numerous specialty societies including the Orthopaedic Research Society, the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Russell Warren, M.D.
Dr. Warren joined Hospital for Special Surgery on January 1, 1977 and became surgeon-in-chief on September 1, 1993. Dr. Warren is the team physician for the New York Giants football team, and oversees all medical care for the players. In addition, Dr. Warren is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He has received numerous awards, including the Neer Award for Shoulder Research in 1989 and 1995, the O'Donohue Award for Sports Medicine Research in 1982, 1991 and 1994 and the John Jay Award from Columbia College in 1992. From 1994 - 1995 he served as the President of the American Shoulder & Elbow Society and has also served as the President of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports.
